From a geological point of view, the area is characterized by the presence of “gneiss” and biotic schist that switch to granite-gneiss in the areas that aren’t subject to erosion. We are dealing with rocks that have a low permeability which tends to increase in the areas of degradation and workmanship.
The soil, according to the Soil Taxonomy (1999), enters within the large group of Dystrudepts. The characteristics of this type of soil, is that it can vary from deeply moderate to deep. Its texture varies from moderate to moderately thick and it presents a horizontal surface of a dark brown color, rich of organic matter. The reaction is acidic. The vegetative period is characterized by a good water availability (ARSSA 2003).
